A2 Biological Safety Cabinets |
Purifier Logic Class II, Type A2 Biosafety Cabinets provide personnel, product and environmental protection from hazardous particulates such as agents that require Biosafety Level 1, 2 or 3 containment. Other appropriate applications include work with antineoplastic drugs, genetic material, carcinogens, allergens and additional substances that generate hazardous airborne particulates. All models are NSF-Listed. During operation, room air is drawn into the inlet grille at the work access opening and through a supply HEPA filter. Approximately 70% of the HEPA-filtered air is circulated through the cabinet, while 30% passes through an exhaust HEPA filter and is discharged. These biohazard cabinets are designed to discharge HEPA-filtered exhaust air directly into the laboratory, or into an exhaust system through the optional Canopy Connection. When canopy-ducted, these biological safety cabinets may be used for applications involving minute quantities of volatile toxic chemicals and tracer amounts of radionuclides as an adjunct to microbiological research.

B2 Biological Safety Cabinets |
Purifier Logic Class II, Type B2 Biosafety Cabinets provide personnel, product and environmental protection from hazardous particulates such as agents that require Biosafety Level 1, 2 or 3 containment. Other appropriate applications include work with antineoplastic drugs, genetic material, asbestos and additional substances that generate hazardous airborne particulates. All models are NSF-Listed.
These biological safety cabinets are designed to be hard ducted to the outside. During operation, room air is drawn into the top of the cabinet and through a supply HEPA filter. This filtered air flows downward through the work area. Room air is also drawn into the inlet grille located at the work access opening. All of the contaminated air passes through the exhaust HEPA filter. A dedicated exhaust system and remote blower discharge 100% of the filtered exhaust air from the laboratory. Since none of the air is recirculated, these biohazard cabinets may be used for work with agents treated with volatile toxic chemicals and radionuclides.

Biological Safety Cabinets, Enclosures And Clean Benches |
HEPA filtered biological safety cabinets, enclosures and clean benches. Labconco manufactures a variety of ventilated enclosures that use 99.99% efficient HEPA filtration to provide personnel, environmental and/or product protection. Purifier Logic Class II Biological Safety Cabinets provide personnel, product and environmental protection from hazardous particulates such as agents that require Biosafety Level 1, 2 or 3 containment. Purifier Delta Series Biosafety Cabinets have been discontinued and replaced by the Purifier Logic Class II Biosafety Cabinets. Purifier Class I and HEPA Filtered Enclosures provide personnel and environmental protection and are ideal for procedures that generate fine dust, handling suspicious mail or weighing hazardous powders. They offer an economical alternative to Class II cabinets when applications do not require product protection. Purifier Vertical and Horizontal Clean Benches provide ISO Class 5 (formerly Class 100) conditions that protect your work from airborne particulates and cross contamination. Purifier Filtered PCR Enclosures are specialized vertical clean benches that provide a controlled environment in which to perform polymerase chain reaction experiments. Below is a listing of all the biological safety cabinets, enclosures and clean benches available from Labconco. Click on any product to find out more about it. Ductless Filtered Enclosures |
Paramount Ductless Enclosures (also known as ductless fume hoods) use carbon filters to rid the work area of hazardous fumes and vapors. Filters are available for adsorbing or treating acid gases, solvents, ammonia, formaldehyde and radioisotopes. Carbon and HEPA filters may be stacked for mixed use applications. Wondering what chemicals are appropriate for use in Paramount Ductless Enclosures and other Carbon-Filtered Enclosures? Search our Online Chemical Guide, which tells you not only what chemicals can be used, but also shows compatible enclosures and filters for any given chemical. FilterMate Portable Exhausters connect to Demonstration Hoods, XPert Balance Enclosures, Protector XVS Ventilation Stations or Protector Work Stations. Models are available that use a HEPA filter, carbon filter or combination of both filters to remove particulate and/or organic solvent, formaldehyde or ammonia vapors from the exhaust air. Protector Work Stations are designed specifically for the needs of histologists and pathologists. Models are available that use carbon filters that adsorb formaldehyde or organic solvent vapors. Other models duct to the outside. Fume Adsorbers are compact, portable enclosures that use a carbon filter to adsorb low levels of xylene and alcohol vapors.
Below is a brand listing of carbon-filtered enclosures and companion products available from Labconco. Click on any brand to find out more about it. If you are still unsure which brand is best for your application, use the Advanced Product Search to help you narrow down your choices.
Before you decide whether a carbon-filtered enclosure is appropriate for your application, fill out the Chemical Assessment form and submit it to us. A Labconco Ventilation Specialist will analyze your application and recommend the right enclosure for you.

Balance, Bulk Powder & Equipment Enclosures |
XPert Balance Enclosures provide user protection by keeping powders, particulates and fumes contained during weighing procedures. Patented (U.S. Patent No. 6,461,233) features including the Clean-Sweep air foil, upper containment sash foil and zone-perforated rear baffle maximize containment. The interior dimensions easily accommodate large micro and analytical balances. Additional patent is pending. XPert Balance Enclosures may be ducted to the outside or connected to the FilterMate Portable Exhauster for HEPA and/or carbon filtered exhaust back into the laboratory. XPert Easy-Order simplifies the ordering process by placing the XPert Balance Enclosure, Black Solid Epoxy Dished Work Surface and FilterMate Portable Exhauster under one catalog. XPert Filtered Balance Systems include a built-in blower and exhaust HEPA filter. These Systems return filtered air to the laboratory and require no outside ducting. XPert Filtered Balance Stations include an exhaust HEPA filter and are designed to be ducted to an outside blower.
